The General Radio 1230-P1 Component Shield was introduced in Catalog O (1956) and remained available through Catalog S (1965).
The Type 1230-P1 is an accessory shield enclosure for the Type 1230-A. Mounted to the rear of the 1230-A it acts as a shielded extension of its terminals. The 1230-P1 is held in place by a thumb screw and its cover is held in place by similar screws for quick access. The shield is especially useful in measurement of the small components including resistors, capacitors, back resistance of silicon diodes.
