The General Radio 1862-B Megohmmeter was introduced in Catalog N (1954) and remained available through Catalog Q (1961).
The Type 1862-B is update from 1862-A Type with the addition a 50 V setting to complement the 500 V test voltage. Both instruments are designed for insulation test and high resistance tests. The meter is marked directly in megohms and the multiplier switch is color-coded to the corresponding voltage on the unknown. The function switch has a Check setting as well as a Discharge setting with a corresponding warning lamp.
Specifications
- Range: 0.5 MΩ to 2,000,000 MΩ at 500 V and to 200,000 MΩ at 50 V.
- Accuracy: At 5OO V, the basic accuracy is ±3% for all but the highest multiplier setting is ±3% (See Manual).
- Voltage at Unknown: 50 V or 500 V selected by front panel switch.
