Hey, Jerry and Peter - this file seems to have limited OCR - it has TOC and links to sections but the text doesn't seem to be searchable - I know that some other catalogues are fully indexed, so wondered if you'd like to re-run the OCR (I think my methods would lose the TOC and hotlinks, so I'm apprehensive about replacing it myself) Qfissler (talk) 05:58, 22 September 2024 (PDT)

This file like many others were from the GR Historical Society and the quality was not the best. I performed OCR using Acrobat 8 and the results are what you see. That being said I've been replacing these catalogs with our own and the results are very good. I noticed the problem when I was creating some of the pages. Some of the Experimenters have the same issue. The short answer is, do whatever is possible to improve the OCR and I can replace the contents and hotlinks, not a lot of work. Thanks - done - but I also tried on GRwiki_Catalog_F2_OCR_1931.pdf and it looked very messy - text blurred and overlaid with OCR text - I think I'm going to have to re-visit my pdf options... Qfissler (talk) 12:12, 24 September 2024 (PDT)

Looks great now. I restored the TOC links. The OCR is on the money. Just check it so all is well. Thanks Again. Jerry
