The {{Title|General Radio 1401-D Standard Air Capacitor}} was introduced in {{Catalog N}} and remained available through {{Catalog S}}.

The Type 1401-D is 1000 pF two terminal air capacitor designed as a laboratory reference or working capacitance standard. It features all aluminum construction with shielded cover. Connections are Type 274 plugs spaced ¾ inches on center. This spacing matches the Type [[716-C]] making them useful as balancing capacitors when performing substitution measurements. The Type 1401-D is one of four in the series. For an overview of these capacitors see Type [[1401]] Series.
