The oscillator uses the 2C43 Triode with a variable capacitor and and variable inductor tuned circuit.  The tuned circuit is the sliding contact type making the 1363 unsuitable for sweep operation. As a member of the unit oscillator group if requires an external power supply, three are recommended Types [[1264-B]], [[1267-B]], and [[1269-A]].
