The General Radio 1862-C Megohmmeter introduced in 1963 Catalog R and remained available through Catalog T 1968.

The Type 1862-C is a portable direct reading Megohmmeter featuring the patented Flip-Tilt (clam shell) case. It replaces the Type

1862-B with improved charge-discharge switching the unknown. Aplications include high value resistors and insulation resistance.  


Specifications

  • Ranges: 0.5 to 2,000,000 MΩ at 500 volts and to 200,000 MΩ at 100 volts.
  • Accuracy: From ±3% at the low-resistance end of each decade to ± 12%; (See manual).
  • Voltage on Unknown: 100 or 500 V, selected by switch on front panel.
