General Radio 1398-A Pulse Generator

The General Radio 1398-A is a pulse generator introduced in Catalog S (1965) that remained available through Catalog T (1968).

The 1398-A is a general purpose Pulse Generator for lab use. Its an upgrade of the Type 1217-C having its built in power supply with a faster rise time and increased output. Being a hybrid with tubes in the output stage and transistors in the Trigger/Multivibrator circuit.

Specifications

  • PRF: 2.5 Hz to 1.2 MHz, internal control.
  • PRF: DC to 2.4 MHz, external control.
  • Pulse Duration: 100 ns to 1 s.
  • Rise and Fall Time: 5 ns into 50 or 100 Ω.
  • Output: 60 mA, positive and negative.
