The General Radio 1424-A Decade Capacitor was introduced in Catalog Q (1961) and remained available through Catalog 1973.
The Type 1424-A is decade capacitor constructed with Polystyrene dielectric capacitors. With a total capacitance of 10 μF at 1 μF steps and 500 maximum voltage it comprises a low dissipation decade standard. The aluminum outer case and panel are insulated from both capacitor terminals, so that either two or three terminal connections can be used. The connections are Type 938-A Jack-Top binding posts plus ground terminal with shorting link. Each capacitor is supplied with a calibration certificate with up to date specifications.
