William R. Thurston (b. August 31, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, US – d. April 6, 2024 in Lincoln, MA, US) graduated from high school in Connecticut and obtained a BS from MIT.
After Thurston had been accepted as a co-op student at General Radio, the company requested that his war service be at the MIT Radiation Laboratory.
Following the war, Bill continued to work for GR and to pursue his MS degree.
He retired from GR in 1987 after 50 years, after having served 15 years as President and CEO.
