The General Radio 1264-A Modulating Power Supply was introduced in Catalog Q (1961) and remained available through Catalog S (1965).

The Type 1264-A was designed as a companion power supply-modulator for the Type 1361-A and other similar unit oscillators.

Amplitude modulation is provided by an internal 1 kHz square-wave oscillator, and pulse modulation is possible with the addition of an external driving source. The 1217-B Unit Pulse Generator is recommended as the external driver.

The 1264-B provides power through the standard unit power connector and modulation through a cable terminating in an eight-terminal "Jones" connector. The 1264-A can provide modulation to oscillators without the "Jones" connector by using adapters 1264-P1 and 1264-P2.

Specifications

  • Regulated DC Output (Unmodulated)
  • Voltage: Adjustable from 200 to 300 V
  • Current: 50 mA maximum
  • Ripple: Less than 5 mV
  • Heater Output (Unregulated):  6.3 VAC / 2.1 A
  • Modulation: internal 1 kHz square-wave
