The General Radio 1521-P2 40 dB Potentiometer was introduced in Catalog Q (1961) and remained available through Catalog 1973.
The Type 1521-P2 is the standard 40 dB potentiometer for the Type 1521-A Graphic Level Recorder. It is one of three AC potentiometers, the others being the Types 1521-P1 20 dB and 1521-P3 80 dB. The potentiometer is part of the feedback circuit that positions the recorder pen, the wiper being mounted on top of the recorder pen.
An accessory cleaner and lubricant was available as Type 1521-4200.
