The General Radio 908-P2 Synchronous Dial Drive was introduced in Catalog O (1956) and remained available through Catalog S (1965).
The Type 908-P2 is a synchronous dial drive with a pinion speed of 30 rpm. Its function is to sweep the dial of the attached instrument at a rate synchronous with an oscilloscope, e.g. to plot amplitude vs. frequency.
The 908-P2 is self-reversing when it encounters a mechanical stop. It features two sets of attaching screws for instruments with Type 908 and 907 dial mechanisms.
Compatible oscillators are 1209-C, 1209-CL, 1211-C, 1215-C, 1304-B, 1360-B, and 1361-A.
Specifications
- Drive Speed: 30 RPM
- 908 Dial Speed: 2 RPM or 30 seconds per revolution
- 907 Dial Speed: 3 RPM or 20 seconds per revolution
- Torque at Pinion: ⅔ inch-ounces
