The General Radio 908-P1 Synchronous Dial Drive was introduced in Catalog O (1956) and remained available through Catalog S (1965).

It is a synchronous dial drive with a pinion speed of 4 rpm. Its function is to sweep the dial of the attached instrument at a constant speed synchronously with a 1521-A Graphic Recorder.

Applications include plotting amplitude vs. frequency.

The Type 908-P1 features two sets of attaching screws for instruments with Type 908 and 907 dial mechanisms. The 908-P1 is self-reversing when it encounters a mechanical stop.

Compatible oscillators are 1208-C, 1209-C, 1209-CL, 1211-C, 1215-C, 1330-A, 1304-B, 1210-C, 1360-B, and 1361-A.

Specifications

  • Drive Speed: 4 RPM
  • 908 Dial Speed: 4/15 RPM or 225 seconds per revolution
  • 907 Dial Speed: 4/10 RPM or 150 seconds per revolution
  • Torque at Pinion: 5 inch-ounces
