The Type 1234 Standing-Wave Meter is a low noise three stage tuned amplifier operating at a frequency 1 kHz.  Its designed to measure standing waves (maximums and minimums) when paired with a slotted line like [[874-LB]]. Either a crystal rectifier or a bolometer can be used as a detector. The panel meter is equipped with lamps at the far end of each scale to indicate which is in use. There are also ac and dc outputs for use with a recorder.

The General Radio 1234 Standing-Wave Meter was introduced in Catalog T (1968) and remained available through Catalog 1978.

It is a low-noise, three-stage tuned amplifier operating at 1 kHz, designed to measure standing waves (maxima and minima) when paired with a slotted line like the 874-LB and either a crystal rectifier or a bolometer used as a detector.

The panel meter is equipped with lamps at the far end of each scale to indicate which detector is in use. There are also AC and DC outputs for use with a recorder.

Specifications

  • Meter Scale Bolometer: current, 0 to 10 mA
  • Meter Accuracy: 0 to 10 dB scale, ±(0.01 dB + 2% of reading);0 to 1.6 dB scale, ±0.02 dB; 0 to 0.45 dB scale, ±0.007 dB
