The General Radio 1398-A Pulse Generator was introduced in Catalog S (1965) and remained available through Catalog T (1968).
The 1398-A is a general purpose Pulse Generator for lab use. Its an upgrade of the Type 1217-C having its built in power supply with a faster rise time and increased output. Being a hybrid with tubes in the output stage and transistors in the Trigger/Multivibrator circuit.

- PRF: DC to 2.4 MHz, external control
- Pulse Duration: 100 ns to 1 s
