The General Radio 1211-B HF Unit Oscillator introduced in Catalog O (1956) and remained available through Catalog Q (1961).

The 1211-B is an updated version of the original 1211-A unit oscillator. It features both variable capacitance and inductance for frequency control in two bands. Amplitude modulation is possible via a front panel phone jack using the Type 1214-A oscillator. The Type 1211-B like most "Unit" instruments requires an external power supply, 1203-B is recommended. The Type 1211-B is used as generator for the Type 916-AL, 1601-A and 1606-A bridges.

Specifications

  • Frequency Range: 0.5 to 50 MHz in two ranges
  • Frequency Calibration Accuracy: ±2 percent at no load
  • Output Power: At least 200 milliwatts into 50 Ω load at any frequency. Over the 0.5 to 5 MHz range, average output is approximately 2 watts
